Rescue 3 University Award Programme

As you are probably aware Rescue 3 (UK) is a partner training organisation of the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan), and, through this partnership, delivers a University validated award programme. This programme has been established for both new and existing Rescue 3 students and as an existing Rescue 3 Instructor you can transfer your Rescue 3 awards into this programme and access the University awards.

For existing Rescue 3 Instructors the most straighforward transfer route is into the Foundation Certificate in Technical Rescue Instruction, which is a 120 Higher Education credit award (detailed below):

Foundation Certificate in Technical Rescue Instruction (120 Higher Education credits):

In accordance with University Accredited Prior Learning Policy (APL), you can transfer/APL up to two-thirds of an award, so for the Foundation Certificate (120 credits) you can transfer a maximum of 80 credits, which is the equivalent of SRT 1 (20 credits), SRT A (20 credits) and SRT Instructor (40 credits), which you have gained through your Rescue 3 courses.

This will leave you with 40 credits to gain to complete the award (20 of which must gained through the Professional Practice Portfolio which is a compulsory module).
