The Basic Water Rescuer Instructor (BWRI) pathway is designed for candidates wishing to deliver a course with a rescue capability in still or slow moving water environment, such as lakes, ponds and canals.
Prerequisites:
- Swiftwater and Flood First Responder (2 days)
- First aid qualification, appropriate for the environment in which they will be working.
Instructor training and assessment:
- Basic Water Rescuer Instructor course (2 days)
Qualification valid for:
2 years
Able to teach:
- Water and Flood Awareness (AW)
- Basic Water Rescuer (BWR)
- Lifejacket Competent User 1 (LJCU1)
- Lifejacket Competent User 2 (LJCU2)
- Water Awareness and Safety (WAS)
