The Ice Rescue Technician Instructor (IRTI) course enables delivery of a course for emergency responders who may have to venture onto surface ice to perform a rescue.
Instructor training:
- Ice Rescue Technician Instructor training (24 hours/4 days)
Instructor assessment:
- Ice Rescue Technician Instructor assessment (12 hours/2 days)
Candidates are expected to further develop their personal skills and knowledge between their training and assessment courses, following an individual action plan outlined in the training course debrief.
Prerequisites:
- Swiftwater and Flood Rescue Technician (SRT)
- Ice Rescue Technician Advanced (IRTA)
- First aid qualification, appropriate for the environment in which they will be working.
