Whitewater Rescue Technician Advanced – Water (WRTA-W)
The Whitewater Rescue Technician Advanced – Water course follows on from the Whitewater Rescue Technician – Professional course and is designed for outdoor professionals working in more challenging whitewater environments. As with the WRT-PRO, the focus is on solutions to common rescue situations, and effective use of river rescue kit. For people wanting vertical access and egress, eg in canyons, they should take the Whitewater Rope Operator course.

- High energy water – swimming

- High energy water – throwbags
- High energy water – 2- and 4-point tether with friction belays
- Boat on a highline
- In-water rescues at night
- Introduction to weir rescues
- Search operations and management for whitewater professionals
- Casualty care and packaging
- Low angle casualty transport
- Access/egress on low or moderate angle slopes
- Solving complex rescue scenarios
