Confined Space Operations for HART (CSOHART)
The CSOHART course is designed for Hazardous Area Response Teams (HART) undertaking operations in confined spaces. It meets the requirements of the UK’s National Ambulance Resilience Unit (NARU) TIS NH 06: Confined Space Operations.

- Considerations for safe operations in trenches
- Considerations for use of SAR (airlines)
- Clinical considerations for confined space operations
- Respiratory protective equipment (RPE) – escape sets, SavOx and EDBA
- Use of multi-gas diffuse and pump meters
- Confined space ventilation
- Knots and terminations
- Anchor systems
- Dynamic risk assessment and safety checks
- On-scene safety briefing and site control
- Standard tripod and winch operations
- Work restraint
- Vertical confined space entry
- Emergency procedures
- Entry control supervision
- Raising/lowering systems, and mechanical advantage
- Confined space rescue harnesses and stretchers
- Casualty care and packaging
- Rescue of casualty from a low/medium risk confined space
- EDBA periodic, pre-use and post-use set checks and care
- EDBA entry control
- Entry to confined space wearing EDBA
- Rescue from a high risk confined space wearing EDBA
