The Managing Search Operations (MSO) course is for search managers, who will be tasking search operatives to perform water-based searches.

Prerequisites
- Current Rescue 3 Swiftwater and Flood First Responder (SFR) or Management of Water and Flood Incidents (MWFI) certification
Course content includes
- Prerequisite knowledge from SFR
- Search manager remit and role
- The command structure of search operations
- Search terminology
- Lost person behaviour
- Tactical briefing and debriefing
- Situational awareness with mapping and mapping aids
- Search equipment and techniques
- Suspending the search
- Tabletop search management exercise.
