Confined Space Entry and Rescue (Low, Medium and High Risk) (CSERLMH)
The Confined Space Entry and Rescue (Low, Medium and High Risk) course builds on the Confined Space Entry and Rescue (Low and Medium Risk) (CSERLM) course. In addition, this course introduces the skills required to enter and undertake co-worker rescues from a high risk confined space, wearing self-contained breathing apparatus.

- Confined space definitions, hazards and categories
- Legislation and standards
- Personal safety
- Safe systems of work for confined space entry
- Isolation – lock-out, tag-out, try-out
- Introduction to air monitoring
- Rescue plans, incident size-up and incident management
- Personal and team equipment
- Entry procedures
- Communications and verbal commands
- Loads and forces
- Medical considerations
- Respiratory protective equipment (RPE) – escape sets and SCBA
- Use of a 4-gas diffuse meter
- Confined space ventilation
- Knots and terminations
- Anchor systems
- Dynamic risk assessment and safety checks
- On-scene safety briefing and site control
- Standard tripod configuration and mechanical hoisting
- Work restraint
- Vertical confined space entry and exit
- Emergency procedures
- Reach type rescue with a telescopic pole
- Raising/lowering systems and mechanical advantage
- Confined space rescue harnesses and stretchers
- Casualty care and packing
- Rescue of a casualty from a low/medium risk confined space
- SCBA periodic, pre-use and post-use set checks and care
- SCBA entry control
- Entry to confined space wearing SCBA
- Rescue from a high risk confined space wearing SCBA
