Management of Water and Flood Incidents Instructor (MWFII)
The Management of Water and Flood Incidents Instructor pathway is aimed at the emergency and rescue services. It is designed for teaching flood incident management.
Prerequisites:
- Swiftwater and Flood Rescue Technician (SRT)
- Swiftwater and Flood Rescue Boat Operator (SFRBO)
- Management of Water and Flood Incidents (MWFI)
- First aid qualification, appropriate for the environment in which they will be working.
Instructor training:
- Management of Water and Flood Incident Instructor training (5 days)
Instructor assessment:
- Management of Water and Flood Incident Instructor assessment (2 days)
Candidates are expected to further develop their personal skills and knowledge between their training and assessment courses, following an individual action plan outlined in the training course debrief.
Qualification valid for:
2 years
Able to teach:
- Water and Flood Team Leader (WFTL)
- Management of Water and Flood Incidents (MWFI)
- Management of Water and Flood Incidents (MWFI) combined with Swiftwater and Flood First Responder (SFR) (if also an SFR instructor or above).
- Flood Management for Non-Emergency Services (FMNES)
