Rope Over Water (ROW)

The Rope Over Water (ROW) course is designed for rescuers who hold, at a minimum, Swiftwater and Flood Rescue Technician (SRT) and Rope Rescue Operator (RRO) certifications. This course emphasises the unique challenges of conducting rescues that require both rope and water rescue skills, addressing the specific hazards that arise when integrating multiple rescue disciplines.

This course replaces the rope over water elements of the historic SRT Advanced – Water and Rope (SRTA-W&R) course. The 3 day Swiftwater and Flood Rescue Technician Advanced – Water (SRTA-W) course will remain. The SRTA-W course has no vertical rope elements, and is the prerequisite water course for SRT Instructors and those wanting an advanced swiftwater capability.

For students who want a high-end rope capability, they can look to the Rope Rescue Technician (RRT) course, up to and including non-reeving (dipping) highlines, or beyond to the Rope Rescue Specialist (RRS) course which includes reeving highlines.
