Flood Operations – Foundation (FO-F)
The Flood Operations Foundation (FO-F) course meets the requirements laid out in the Defra Flood Rescue Concept of Operations, Annex G, Water & Flood Non-Rescue Support Operations Training Module. It is designed for workers from non-rescue organisations in flooding events. It also includes the syllabus from Defra Module 1 (Water and Flood Awareness).
Workers who want a higher capability in flooding events should take the full Flood Operations (FO) course, which includes a co-worker rescue capability.
Workers who operate near or in water, but not during flooding events, should take the Safe Working Near Water (SWNW) or Safe Working in Water (SWIW) course.
Members of the rescue and emergency services should take Water and Flood Awareness (AW – Mod 1), Swiftwater and Flood First Responder (SFR – Mod 2) or Swiftwater and Flood Rescue Technician (SRT – Mod 3) depending on the level of what they are tasked to do.
